Hike #5: June 21 Spencer to Oakham

1.Head south on Pleasant St toward Main St 210 ft
2.Turn left onto MA-9 E/Main St 2.1 mi
3.Turn left onto Bond St 410 ft
 
4. Look for Midstate Trail Crossover on the Left. Steep Climb 0.7 mi
5. Cross Howard Hurley Rd. 0.5 mi
6. Cross a Dam, then cross Moose Hill Rd. shortly turn onto Donnelly Cross Rd., then       
     immediately trun left onto the footpath, entering Moosehill Wildlife Management 
     Area.     0.4 mi
7. Cross Over top of Moose Hill 1.2 mi
8. Crossing several Streams, pass just east of Spencer Airport (1,040 ft elevation) 0.6 mi
9. Cross Paxton Rd. (paved) then shortly enter Spencer State Forest and begin climbing 
    1.2    mi
10. Cross turkey Hill Brook Rd. on concrete Bridge then climb again 0.5 mi
11. Reach open Shelter at Buck Hill, then walk along Buck Hill Reserve's ecology and 
      wildflower trails 0.6 mi
12. Cross Paved McCormack Rd 1.1 mi
13. Turn Left on Thompson Pond Rd. and Cross Rt. 31 in North Spencer. Continue on 
      this street now called Browning Pond Rd. 0.2 mi
14. Turn right onto a hiking path 0.5 mi
15. Turn left onto Browning Pond Lane (gravel) 0.1 mi
16. Turn Right onto Browning Pond Rd. 0.2 mi
17. Turn Right onto a woods Trail, passing along the shore of Browning Pond. 1.2 mi
18. Pass Sampson's Pebble and enter BoyScout Land 1.5 mi
19. Cross a log Bridge, walk under a powerline 0.5 mi
20. Reach Midstate Trail HALF WAY POINT!! sign 0.5 mi
21. Reach East Hill Rd, leaving Boyscout Land 0.5 mi
22. Head North on hiking Trail, cross a dirt Rd. near the Shore of Long Pond 0.1 mi
23. Reach Lean to Shelter 0.5 mi
